1. Information We Collect

When you create an account on ETMDb, we collect basic information such as your name, username, and email address. We also record your submitted film ratings, reviews, and watchlists to personalize your user experience.

For survey submissions, we record your answers, submission time, IP address, and browser information to review response integrity. IP addresses collected from October 14, 2026 onward are stored encrypted and are available only to authorized administrators. Earlier survey submissions retain only an IP identifier; their original IP addresses were not stored. IP information is kept separate from the analysis and answer downloads.

When you claim a profile, we ask for legal documents so reviewers can verify that you may represent it. People submit a National ID and a phone number. Companies and cinemas submit a business license, a business registration certificate, a VAT registration certificate, and a TIN certificate. These files are encrypted. Only you and ETMDB reviewers can open them, and only while the claim is in review or waiting for your updates. They are deleted when the claim is approved, permanently rejected, or withdrawn. If a reviewer asks for changes, the files and phone number stay until you resubmit, withdraw the claim, or delete your account.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your information is used solely to authenticate your account, maintain community ratings, display public user reviews, and protect against security abuse. We do not sell or trade your personal data to third parties.

3. Cookies & Session Storage

ETMDb uses essential authentication cookies and session tokens to keep you logged in securely and remember your watchlist preferences across sessions.

4. Your Data Rights

You can edit your user profile, manage your watchlists, or request full account deletion at any time via your account settings or by contacting our team at privacy@etmdb.org.
